Picked up the Southern States feed today at Agway. The guy there said they have no animal byproducts and marigold in it so the yolk looks really good. He was telling me about Agway's new line that has the Hearty Hen Layer- soy free, with flax and marigold for omega 3. I might want to try that...
Well, I walked away from the Green Dragon with 9 crested ducks. Really new to ducks and wanted to just start out with 2 but once my DH gets started with bidding, well, it's all over. Nine!
Anyway, it was fun and nice that I can put some faces with BYC names.
Rodriguezpoutry, I have been looking for whites. They are my favorite color. I forget- were you going to the Green Dragon on Sat.? I live too far away to pick them up otherwise. ( about 15min from collegville. )
Gardeningmama, If you don't mind a little traveling, you could always contact Hcjink up in Lehighton. They are excellent breeders of orpingtons and I've been seeing their ad on Craigs list for chicks. Only $2.00 ea. Wish I had room for some of them myself. They are here on BYC and have a...

I have 12 chicks I hatched out last week for an auction I never got to go to. Barnyard beauties. They came from mostly brown and white eggs with a OE or two mixed in. My main roo is a buff cochin. $2.00 a cute chick if anyone is interested. I'm in upper Montgomery co.
LOL. That's funny.
I understand the phobia. I usually just tell my husband what I want and he bids for me. He loves getting into the action. He gets into it alittle too much sometimes and pays a lot more than what I told him I wanted to spend. He's so sweet- he just wants to get me what I...
I'm going to try to come. I've been wanting to get out there on a Friday night but I would have to leave directly from work to get there at a decent time. And then the drive back home in the wee hours of the morning. Saturday sounds like a much better option. Will it be as big as a usual...
Good to know! I got woken up last night by one crawling on my ear. Needless to say, I swatted at it because I was half asleep and ended up with a stinky ear. I was up a lot earlier than usual this morning.
I maybe will in approximately a month. Need to separate the pen. I say maybe because with the warmer weather all of a sudden I have 5 broody silkies. I'm hoping that moving them will help them kick the habit.
I'm in upper montgomery co. Might be a bit of a jog. We like to go camping out...
I'm in Montgomery Co. Not really near you but I have some cochin roosters that are extremely docile. I have buff LF and a mixed bantam. Also have 2 sizzle roos as well. They are up for grabs for anybody. I'm keeping them around until I find homes for them because they are just too awesome...
I hatched some out last weekend. I have two batches in the brinsea for a staggered hatch. Waiting for my eggs from the Feb swap. I'm with you Sharron- told myself I wouldn't hatch in the winter. They leave my basement in a dusty mess. But I just can't help it. I miss the little buggers.
I'm in Green Lane, Montgomery Co.
Been trying to get good at incubating and will probably have chickens for sale in the spring if anyone is interested.
