About 3-4 inches here and still snowing pretty good near Bloomsburg, Pa(Northeast). Work closed for the day which is nice, not having to drive in the mess!
Yes, we have a LG with fan and turner. We have hatched out some of our own last year and tried some shipped eggs but didn't do very well. I have a book from our fair that has the showable varities, classes, colors and etc. I would do either eggs or chicks. My girls started out with rabbits...
They like pretty much anything LF and things that are different (not as common). I prefer something that is a decent egglayer, so it can help pay for itself, lol. Something on the docile side like their Cochins.
were in Northeast PA near Bloomsburg. My girls have shown at the local fair for the past 2 years now, they want to branch out and go to other PA shows as well.
Does anyone know yet what they will have available this spring in chicks and hatching eggs? My girls down sized their 4-h flock in the late fall and decided only to keep their LF cochins in BBS and their English Orps in BBS through the winter. They will be looking for a couple new breeds to...
You can place the 8-12 foot round blue pools in your basement with pumps for the winter they are like 3 1/2 feet deep. My friend raises Koi and does it this way then they also have a large pond that they made outside for summer time with pumps.
Getting ready to head down to State College for the Penn State Ladies Basketball game @1. Hopefully the roads are a little better there then up here in Northeast, PA.
My LF buckeyes are the funniest(most personality) of the breeds that I have, they are very brave but not mean. As soon as you go into the run they come running like a dog and I think they would climb up you leg if they could. If you are holding feed in a jug or etc. they will try and jump up...
My girls wanted to buy and hatch a couple turkey eggs that they found at a spring auction last year. We still have 3 (that's what hatched). My thinking was that it was fine, we could eat 1 for every holiday. LOL Almost a year later and they are still here. They are kept penned but get out...
I have a trio of Narragansetts but they are not currently laying. As soon as they are laying eggs will be available forsale and I plan on hatching a few poults to sell as well. along with my buckeyes and salmon faverolles.
Yes they are double cages that are all hooked on a frame and 3 high, with rolling wheels on the bottom. Each pan has a pull out plastic tray underneath for the dropping to fall into.
