I really need to stay out of TSC during chick weeks!!. I went there today for some duct tape, honestly that was it. I made it to the register with just the duct tape. I was so proud of myself :) then it happened. I opened my mouth...and ended up buying the last 8 tetra tints that were in one of...

How do you tell if fermented feed spoiled? I have a small batch that I didn't stir for a few days. It had a whitish look on the top but smelled kind of sweet. It doesn't smell spoiled but then again I have never smelled spoiled fermented feed. No mold on it so that is a good thing :)

What is going on with this weather!! I had all day Saturday to myself so I decided it would be the perfect time to build a grow out coop. Now it didn't turn out how envisioned it but it all worked out in the end. Started out with 4 pallets (I seem to have an issue hoarding them) a 4' door with...

Will she get up when she believes they are done? I figured I'd give it till Wednesday at the latest. I've read that some...

Day 21 and 2 eggs hatched under my broodie. She is still sitting tight so hopefully a few more will hatch. One is a little chipmunk and the other is black with a white bib. Both clean yellow legs. Gotta love the mystery of the barnyard mix :) hoping for some silkie mix.

After doing ducklings now for the 2nd year my thoughts on the perfect brooder would be an old bath tub. Its a good thing I don't have a place to put one.

My broody is on day 18. Today is the 1st time I have seen her outside eating as well. I'm sure she has but I'll tell ya putting all of the guys into their own bachelor pad made a difference in my girls. They were all running around happy and not up on branches just hanging out. Also got a record...

The little guys kicked some butt. That's what happens when they want to gang up on my Cochin hen. They all get a...
