Me, either! I do BBS Ameraucanas. I did have some SG Dorkings for a while, which is why I am interested in this pattern.
It looks to me like a diluted silver, maybe a double diluted silver, but completely unlike the SG Dorking pattern. Until I noticed the rosy breast, it looked like a lavender...
Yes, I did mention that it is an EE pullet in my original post.
I'm not interested in whether it is an EE or an Ameraucana. That point is moot; that horse is dead and buried; that dog don't hunt; that song has already been sung, etc. Let's not drag up that old chestnut again. Can we, just for...
A bit off topic, but someone on the Facebook Ameraucana Chickens group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/65816532358/) posted a picture of an EE pullet that looks like a diluted silver to me.
What would you call a silver with the dilution gene? A blue silver? A silver blue?
Anyone heard of these...
Where in Texas are you located?
Recently, on Facebook, I found a group called "Ameraucana Chickens" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/65816532358/?notif_t=group_r2j_approved), and also Ameraucana Breeders Club now has a page...
From the first, I've suspected a fence jumper, but I never could figure out what breed his daddy could have been given the breeds Whitmore posts. Until recently, he's always been the biggest, or second largest. I looked closely at him today, and I think his legs are actually white, not yellow...
THANKS! I was afraid I was going to have to scrap the whole project. I was just going down to give them treats and try to get that rid of the lead weight in the pit of my gut.
Yeah, lots of roos. Whitmore only ships in lots of 25, always straight run. They actually sent 26, I lost one the day they arrived, and another the day I let them free range.
As for the hybrid - I have no idea how he got mixed in. He has always stood out, from the day I got them. They may all be...
These are not the best pictures - they were all taken in dappled light. If these are all EEs, I'm crushed!
...but, I'd rather know than not. Which ones have green legs? They all look to be black or slate to me, but maybe it is wishful thinking on my part.

Jean,
Thanks for the reply. I got these as chicks from Whitmore Farms in Maryland. (http://www.whitmorefarm.com/content/5088)
I do have one male black hybrid/EE, Boychik, who has yellow legs; he also had the delayed feathering that allowed me to identify him as a male at a week or so, and has...
Thanks for the quick reply, Christie!
I have tons of pics of the flock already posted in my albums (https://www.backyardchickens.com/gallery/album/view/id/6235632/user_id/134826), but I'm going to have to get some individual pix of the cockerels before we can really start talking. I also need to...
Hi Everyone,
Is this the right thread to discuss breeding Ameraucanas (not EEs)? If this isn't the right thread, could someone direct me to another thread?
I need some help deciding which cockerels to cull from a flock of twenty four 17-week old straight run blue, black and splash Ameraucanas...
