Saris, Nice eggs! It is hard for me to pick up the true color on my eggs also! Even pictures of my birds look washed out. I need a better camera but that isn't happening.
I won't set any of her eggs and if I can figure out who is laying the white egg. I have a friend that will take her. I know how to tell.... She is probably the best looking one out there!!!! Isn't that usually how it goes!
Yes, I peeled off the membrane and the inside shell is the same color as the outside. I was questioning if there was a little hint of blue in that white. I don't have a white egg layer to compare the shade of white.
I know color can fade later on in the season. I only had one or two that have been laying in that pen. It could have faded to white. I just don't know! It looks very much white though! I won't hatch any from those eggs. Not that I am going to hatch much this year. Thank you Saris! I would much...
I have a lavender Ameraucana that is laying a white egg. Anyone else have that happen? If I figure out which hen is laying that egg. She will find a new home.
I am glad you put the picture up! You havn't bragged enough! Well...... don't brag too much because I still want chicks and everyone else will want them too!
I set my pens up 2-3 weeks ago. My Wheatens and Self Blue pens have been ready for months. I moved the BBS out of the Marans pen though. My husband has been collecting Self Blue and Wheaten eggs the last couple days. I don't want to hatch but he has other ideas.
I posted pictures of my Wheaten and Blue Wheaten Roosters a few weeks ago. You should see them now! Our snow is melting and turned to mud. They look like a feather duster dipped in mud! Beautiful to pitiful!
You will have to show chick pictures. I never even fired up the incubator. I will be going in for another surgery so not going to do much hatching this year. He made my shoulder much worse so I will go to Seattle this time.
