My BBS and Lavendar Ameraucana's hatched yesterday! I am so excited. My Buff Orpington (sp) wanted to be a mamma and I needed chicks for a Father's Day event this weekend so it was perfect timing. I did let her hatch out 2 of her eggs. They are so cute! I will be keeping a couple for her to raise.
Thank you very much.
He is so much darker than the others that i was not sure. He has started to mate so I will be pulling eggs to check for fertility.
Here my potential breeders. They are all so cute and so far non aggressive towards us or the kids.
This is bam bam. 17 weeks 2 days. Orange tag. He is the kids favorite but the smallest of the BBS boys.
This is yellow tag. 18 weeks. He is the biggest of them. He doesn't like his picture...
My Lavender will only have black hens for this first year to improve feather quality the the Fg2 will be breed back to the Lavender to get back to the color. He will not be in with my BBS hens once he matures. I am building him and his 3 girls a place of their own for spring.
Awesome. ThAnk you. I know of only one I am keeping for sure and that's my Lavender.
All the 14 weekers are tagged as they are the first of the breeding program. The adults are not tagged.
I'm sorry I went back and checked my hatch date for him and he is 14 weeks.
The baring is why I am considering him to be a cull. I have 5 cockerels to choose from and they are all good looking so far. I hatched them all so they are hard to choose from for my breeding program I am starting with...
The temps have been around 105 from May through the end of September. Then October is 90's with a few days over 100. I had two Ameraucanas till august. Had to cull the too due to leg issues but my blue hen did really well. The 10 BBS chicks are doing well thus far. The chickens all use the...
Wow that's awful!! I am sorry to hear that. I am working on getting a breading program up and running as soon as my hatchings grow up. They are currently 9-10 weeks old. I am only getting rid of my splashes right now because they are not what I am wanting to breed for showing and my broody hen...
Thank you so much for the information. I think i have a pair but really have no idea so I am selling these first two as straight run. My broody doesn't like the splash colored ones so I am not going to be keep any of them. I need to free up some space so I can have an open pen for breeding.
What is a reasonable price to sell 9 week straight run, Cockerel, or Pullets? Splash and Blue?
I want to make sure I am not over charging for the ones I am not keeping for my breading program.
Here are some pictures of my little ones. Waiting for them to grow out so I can pick which ones I am keeping for my breeding program. Opinions are welcomed!

My little cockerel.
My second pen. He is a little cutie but I am unsure about his coloring so far.
