No, that is a French Angora hide they are laying on from a Jr. doe that I lost earlier this year.
I was going to make it into a purse but the kits love laying on it so much when I handle them out of the box that I decided it will just be a "baby soother".
***WARNING*** Serious Awww alert! Only scroll if you are take the cuteness!
All lined up! I love this picture!
One of three Opal kits.
All three light kits, two brokens and one solid.
Thanks guys! They are SO adorable and Mama is doing such a good job caring for them
Miss Chevy's kits have still not made an appearence. It is day 33 for her.
Last night at around midnight Daphne kindled lucky 7!
Looks like I have 3 opals, 1 chestnut agouti, two possible brokens, and one that I just have to wait on! Possibly a linx.
Here are some pictures:
Great number for my first French litter! I'm over the moon!
Still...
Wanted to add that we have nest building happening with Chevy. Daphne has no interest in making her nest yet, but she has been given a box.
Daphne is going to have a larger litter than Chevy for sure. This morning I could feel the kits moving in her belly and she is HUGE. You cannot tell Chevy...
Yes, I currently have 15 of them and they are all brushed every 4 days on the dot and blown with an industrial blower every 10 days. French Angoras molt their coats every 3-4 months and the fiber is handplucked at that point and then spun into yarn or sold.
It is alot of work but I LOVE it!
Thank You Can you believe that they are actually in really poor shape?! They were gotten from a neglect situation where their owner fell on bad times and they were completely matted and felted even. They all had to be clipped down. I cannot wait to see what they look like when they grow out...
