Yes, they are quite easy to tell apart in my experience. Especially the Splash Mille Fleur since they look like a Golden Neck. If you can't tell the difference between the Blue Mille Fleur and Mille Fleur at hatch, then it should become obvious by the time they start to get wing feathers.
He would be considered a seperate breed; a Booted Bantam to be exact.
The offspring have beards, because the gene that calls for beards and muffs is dominate. The cockerels may end up with wattles and a beard, so I guess that would be more of a co-dominant relationship. He doesn't seem to have...
The male doesn't seem to have a beard?
If you have any questions about the breed, feel free to ask me if you would like. I would be happy to answer them.
They are Blacks that have red leakage, split to Lavender and split to Mottled. I just call mine Lavender splits.
The Lavender gene will turn most colors to Black, and red has a tendency to leak through, as they get older they will most likely get a bit of white in them, showing that they are...
I think it's most definitely a rooster as well. People on here can be just as deceitful as someone you could buy from off of Craigslist. I'm not saying everyone is, but there's a bad egg in every crowd.
Could you possibly give me his contact info? I would really like to purchase some. Where did you find Buff d'Uccles? I've been looking everywhere for them.
Collecting from a pair is slow. Took me two weeks to collect seven or eight eggs from my Blue hen. Luckily age doesn't effect the eggs quite as much as most believe.
So, if you ever have some extras from them, whether they're older or not I would still buy them, just let me know, and sorry I...
At least he's small. It makes that attitude seem like less of a problem. He has pretty good type for being bred to a cochin, but I guess that explains the tail.
I'm just asking around so I can order eggs in the spring. I could use each of those colors actually. I have a lone blue girl and it would be great if I found birds from another line to breed with her. Are you planning on selling eggs?
They're really cute chicks! I don't know if anyone answered your question, I didn't see it, but a couple of my splashes have had the pigment spots, and one of my splits as well. Do you have any adult splashes, I would be really interested to see someone else's birds? Plus, your chicks look...
