I'd say it should be soon, babyrlc - nice red face. And I love the second picture, hokankai - she looks like she is posing!
Barred Rocks are so clever. I always throw scratch over the top of the run area when I leave in the morning. The run area often has leaves/ small branches on it that the...

She is a nice looking bird! Who is Halo, and how do I get a couple of those?
Halo is a breeder near Ocala, Florida. Her real name is Kathy. You can find her on here under Halo - scroll back a few pages - she comments on here from time to time. Or you can search for her in the members...

I'm not sure if Halo is breeding BR's - I know she has some, but you could see if she actually breeds and sells the eggs. Silly Stunt I believe also does sell BR chicks, don't know about hatching eggs. (that is for the Florida person)
:barnie:barnie
It's actually the Ginger Ameraucana tucked under Mama's wing that I am worried about. I'll post a pic in a few weeks. That chic's got some long, lanky, feathered legs, and is a total "Mama's boy".
Here is an 8 week old Blue Plymouth Rock baby from Halo's eggs - isn't she a sweet little chunker!! She's just a ball of feathers with a head and legs.
Love the pics. All of them are beautiful.
Okay, Rock Stars, if you wouldn't mind checking out my thread and giving me some feedback, it would be much appreciated. Also, about how much should I price them for? They are a very nice stock from Halo, not hatchery...
We have Blue Plymouth Rock babies!! Six out of seven of Halo's BPR's have hatched. There is no movement or peeping from the last one, but I will wait a little while before taking it out. Two are much darker than the others - what does that mean for their coloring?
Thanks, Scott - I have a cage I can pop them into if I need to end up bringing them inside. She has been an absolutely devoted broody, rarely getting up at all. I can tell she's been turning them by the re-arrangement of blue and brown eggs. Here's hoping that's a sign to indicate she'll be a...
Yes, yes they are from Halo. Day 21 is Friday - I'm soooo excited. I have to keep a very close eye on my first-time mama hen Sunshine, who is a White Leghorn and as such they are not known for their "motherlyness". She's been great sitting so far, I just don't want her to freak out and kill any...
, Yard full o' rocks!! I checked my Blue Plymouth Rocks under my broody Saturday night, and all appear to be developing, too. One looks smaller than the rest, so we will see in a few days if it makes it. Good Luck!!
Here is mine at 10 days old, I think (or maybe 2 weeks, not sure). She was named Ebony because she was almost all black, and here she is now:
She's so helpful........
Speckled Hen-Have you found the Blue Rocks to have the same curious, silly personalities as the Barred Rocks?
I have a question - It seems like everyone talks about the Barred Rocks being supper friendly, and the one I have definately is. But do ALL the Plymouth Rocks have that trait? I love those Columbian Rocks, and the Silver Penciled ones are neat.
