    I was given this Australorp as an 8 week old and now that it's a year old I'm noticing it's size, as it towers over all other species and the bottoms of it's feet are a pale yellow. Is this also a Giant Jersey? I have GJ hens but never had a Rooster - what do you all think?

    My smaller Jersey's (2) are laying light colored Medium eggs but mostly the 10-13 Lb girls lay XL or Jumbo....Here's a pic of my scale and it always hit's bottom with most it goes to 30oz, they weigh between 30oz & 33 oz...

    So you can never really eat a full grown Giant Jersey without it being tough? I thought they grew in stature and frame for the first year and then beefed up with muscle & breast in their second year? Butchering the chicken that early, will it even be worth eating?
