I refer to mine as hens once they start laying, but it's not the proper usage.
We've had cocks hit 15 pounds at around three years of age when we had Giants back years ago, but the hens were usually around 8 pounds tops.
The hatchery birds we have now are pretty, but won't hit 10 pounds if they lived to be 100 and I feed them ice cream and chocolate cake every day.
