Oh nooo. Sorry this happened to you. I hope your hatch turns out ok.
As for me I have six little fluffy standard possible frizzled cochin chicks in the brooder next to my bed. Two pipped yesterday that did not survive, one was shrinkwrapped when I pulled out it to try and help...
I decided not to open up the bator and get the chick out... I think that the drop in humidity could be worse than being rolled around. A second chick has hatched so the rolling eggs apparently still hatch!
Yippie... two chicks so far!!! and I got to see both of em hatch.
So now that the one chick is out it has managed to roll some of the other pipped eggs clear across the brooder. In the picture he/she was next to an egg carton but the cochin eggs are out laying on the wire bator floor rolling around.
I am worried. I hope this does not hurt the hatch. I guess...
hey Luke, sorry to hear about your chick, thats sad and hard but you did your best and sometimes nature just doesn't agree with us.
I have had 5 pips. One of the pips turned into a zip and hatched right in front of me!! WOW. Crazy cool. She/he is chirping like crazy trying to get her chick...

What time did you put them in, was it morning? If so then I guess tonight would be your last turn as Lockdown would technically start tomorrow morning, but I guess you could do 1 last turn in the morning, then lcokdown.
Yes it was in the morning... I went ahead and did my last turn...
Ok I have a question.... now that it is crunch time, mine are due to hatch the 2nd. So tonight when I do my turning of the eggs (hand turning) I should up the humidity then and go into lockdown right???????? This is the date i put on my calandar... so. Am I correct?
I am in... I have some 10 cochin eggs day 21 is March 2. eggciting!!!
I tried to hatch some others but none developed so this is my first so far so good hatch.
