So I hatched the opposite. Black roo over partridge hen and got all black chicks. I wonder if that means you would get partridge. I’m not good at the genetics game but that was my experience.

I actually have this chart saved on my computer. It is so helpful, and I can always go back to it if I forget, because most of my birds run in these colors.

I just had to share this little one. I have never had one with so much spiky fluff. Don't know if it's a boy or girl yet, but it's soooo cute. Might have to call it Spikie.

I have one sitting on eggs right now, and I tried to get her off for a few days but finally gave up. I gave her a few eggs and have put her in a coop by herself with food and water and plenty of room to take care of her other needs, but I do worry about the cold now. I never would have imagined...

My black silkie Ebony did the exact same thing over the weekend. I have been giving her vitamin E, electrolyte water and some squash and a little prednisone tablet. She will perk up and act fine for a while, but then I will find her with her head tucked under her. All I have to do is straighten...

oh yes I have one right now that I have to keep separated from the others. But he is just other rooster aggressive. He's not really aggressive towards me, but any other rooster he goes nuts. But I think that is pretty normal, the dominance thing and all. My only real problem with him is that he...
