Beautiful! Oh yeah, in that case I'm sure I would be guilty of tossing a living babe. I'm terrible about it too. I will candle and take the egg and tap it and listen, but if I don't hear anything I'll toss it. I'm a wuss, too afraid to open it up and see. I don't want the guilt!

Good move! I don't wait for movement, if I just see a dark mass and no smell, that's good enough for me. I put my 11 remaining eggs in lockdown last night. I have 1 pip as of noon today I'm expecting this porcelain baby sometime tonight

Super! I like it! We did this with our stanndard coop just built off of our potting shed. I like the door, looks just like what we do to make our gates. heh I knew someone would say that. We thought about it, I guess we decided it would be a ton of harware cloth and it would be pretty spendy...

Here is our work in progress. This weekend we will bring in some dirt to level it up and then add sand. Then we will line it all the way around with 1" chicken wire from top to bottom. Making a step and putting the screen door in the middle of the last photo. Add some hanging flower baskets and...

I love silkies! I put my 6 week olds out last night and wondered if my 5mo would treat them well if I put them in the new coop together. I thought it was a good time to see since its a new place for them both. Gee, I never thought they would get along so well! She looks like a little mama with...

Cute, are you hatching eggs from this duo? If so you might be surprised by the difference in colors you might get compared to your old white hen. Well, that way you might actually get what you want first try. What colors are you looking to buy? Darling, just beautiful! I love this! Give her...

Yes, you can give ACV in their water. Start with a very small ammount so they don't get overwelmed and refuse to drink it though. Also be sure they have plenty of ventalation and can get away from the heat as they need to as that can also cause pasty butt. If they are on shavings they sometimes...

Just offer it by itself free choice. They will take what they need. I'm thinking of using a tin can like recycle a tuna can and screw it to the wall to get it high enough off the ground so they don't knock it over daily lol.

I believe the outcome would be a Porcelain still with more of the buff color showing through.
