    My little silkies are 6 months old now and i still am unsure of their sex. Can anyone help me out? The white one is a tad bigger than the blue but not by much. These are the best pictures i could get. They run fast and are not very keen on people. Lol!

    awesome! I'd love to try and hatch some chicks. But I'm already over my limit for chickens so i can't get any more. I will have to get my number down soon and i can't decide who to keep and who to give away. I love them all. I only have 11! That can't possibly be too many. Lol!

    thanks! I'm hoping for girls. I can't keep boys and my favorite chicken is a roo. :( he's a gorgeous silver laced polish. Im keeping him until he crows though.     so what do you think they are? Boys girls both? (If opposite genders tell me which by color. Because i cannot tell! The only difference i see is the blue has less of a crest)

    Anyone know a rough guess at what age Silkie chicks get their voice? Like no longer peeping but sounding more like a hen or a roo? My two babies are 10 weeks old and still peep, while my other 10 week olds (different breeds) are clucking like hens. Is this any indication that they are roos? Or...

    My silkies are skiddish too. But they are young. If i pick them up they will calm down and let me snuggle them. They are sweet once they calm down. Just keep picking them up. Hold them close to your body right side up. (Some of my birds like me to pet their bellies and they will purr)

    These babies are outside ;) but yes i have 2 barred rock hens outside. They are separated from the younger crowd.

    No these are the only silkies i have. Theur buddies are all 7 weeks as well, a silver laced polish, silver laced wyandotte, EE, and salmon faverolle. They are also housed with my 20 week old EE 14 week old black cochin and 11 week old golden laced wyandotte. :)

    Ok here are a few more pics of my 7 week old blue. Need sexing help. :) thanks! (It rained all day yesterday so they are muddy and their run needs cleaning) someone was requesting tail pictures.

    i wouldnt give it layer feed. Too much calcium. Id switch to UNmedicated starter crumble.
