    Silkie question: almost done building the new coop and run. I will end up with only one silkie if my little one is a pullet and a mix of other bantys. Given than silkies can't fly, how far off the ground should I put a roost?

    This one is the same age but much smaller than the roo and still black in the comb. No wattles at the moment. Hoping this is a pullet.

    At 5 1/2 weeks I'm assuming male on this one. Is it normal for a silkie this young to developed such a pink comb? I was worried it was getting pecked on but there's no sign of it.

    Question: I have read silkies are the hardest to sex but I would think some things stand out. I have two (4 1/2 weeks old) one is much bigger than the other. I know that's not a clear indicator but I noticed today it's comb is turning pink. Is that a clear indicator of a roo?
