Not sure if I ever officially signed up, I'm in Duval County, I raise;
Marans (in assorted colors to french standard), English Orps (Mottled, Blacks, Splits, Isabel), Legbars, Welsummers, NN, Plymouth Rocks (Barred and Silver Pencilled), Sulmtalers, Turkeys, Sebastopol Geese & Musovy ducks. :-)
(Hope this is okay!)
Hope to see some peeps out at Middleburg for the monthly swap, now at a new location. I know myself and other will have chickens, guineas, rabbits and much more! :)
Hey guys,
I have a pair of Juvenile Crested Cream Legbar Jill Reese line available for sale or trade. I am located in North Jacksonville, Florida. Around 6 weeks of age. :)
PM me if interested. :)
In my showing days in high school, I got two dozen Leghorns. 2 sexed cockerels in brown and white, 11 white pullets and 11 brown pullets. they were raised in identical conditions but couldn't even walk into the run without causing an almost panic with the whites. I had to call to them yards out...
Hoping to see some people out and about tomorrow at the Dinsmore Tractor Supply Farm Swap in Jacksonville!
We'll have some Ayam Cemani and Assorted Barnyard mutts available. :)
It depends on how big your coop is, and what you use for bedding, I would say that it would be safe so long as you have enough space between the lamp and shavings.
If others have experience using an outdoor heat lamp, feel free to chime in. :)
Buncha swaps going on this weekend about equidistant from us. We've got a few extra cockerels we'd like to sell off but were wondering which one y'all thought would have the most foot traffic?
I find that most hens will still at least moderately lay during a molt, it all depends on how severe it is. If you are worried for them, you can invest in a brooder lamp for relatively cheap at Walmart. :-)
Hey gang,
I was wondering if anyone was currently hatching Cream Legbars? I've been keeping an eye peeled on the BST, RBA, and the legbar thread, but I figured I'd ask here too.
I hope to connect with you all next time! I'm a bit shy and didn't want to disturb anyone who looked otherwise busy, hopefully by next years shows I can have some birds entered. The poults and Sulmtalers are still waaaaayyyy too young.
I'll keep an eye out for the banner next time! ;)
Hah, recently re-made my profile. I didn't have access to my old one since I used my official email from my junior college and couldn't reset the password from years ago, figured I'd start fresh!
