    My girls did a little exploring today outside the coop. I was so nervous and kept a watch on the sky certain a hawk would fly on down and take one away! Yes I am a nervous chicken mama!

    I was wondering if Loblolly Bay flowers are safe for chickens to eat. I have an abundance of them falling off of my tree and was thinking the girls may like them as a treat. Thanks in advance!

    What is BOSS? Hubby and I are planning to put up a pergola type run for the girls around the coop, with a roof directly over the coop to shield them from the sun, hoping this will work to beat the summer heat.

    Plant some coral honeysuckle or fire spikes, hummingbirds would fight over them at my old house. Haven't had a chance to plant coral honeysuckle here at the new house yet, but I am surely going to!

    Yes, severe thunderstorms for Central Florida until this afternoon. I was going to go to the Barberville farm swap but I believe I'll wait until the next one. Not a very nice morning for a leisurely stroll through a farmers market....
