Welcome to the world of non-rev flying!!! Sometimes it is the best thing ever and sometimes not so much...but it certainly has been wonderful for our family. Dh works for Mesa Air here in PHX. He has a really stressful job, but I told him he can't quit for another 5 years til we have lifetime...
It probably was a car wash, because they checked it during the inspection of the house and it was 108!!! So the previous owner had a regulator put in and hopefully no damage has been done to any appliances! It is 85 now.
But our shower IS kind of a car wash...dual heads in there! Which we...
I made my waterers...5 gallon buckets with 4 nipples in each and they stay relatively clean with the lids.
Then for the summer, I took some empty gatorade/powerade bottles and inserted a nipple into each lid. I plan to fill them 1/2 way with water, put on a regular lid, and freeze them laying...
@ChicksOfHazzard
Just saw your photos again (made me )...and I definitely think that girl is faking it! She just wanted to get out of school for the day and go on a field trip!
The fresher the better, but I have heard up to 10-12 days old will hatch. I try to use eggs no older than a week and stored with pointy ends down in the coolest, darkest room we have where they won't get jostled. How often are your hens laying?
Hi, neighbor!
I am also in STV, off of Gary. We don't have any Silkies yet but I will keep my eye out for them. If you get eggs, I can incubate them for you...just hatched 21/25 barnyard mixes for my neighbors starter flock. I *love* to incubate but can't keep everything that hatches.
Argggghhhhh! So Two Pullets This Morning...And Then i Get Home To A Wry Neck Cockerel! REALLY? At Least It's Not Another Pullet, but jeez! And My Littles Wanted Out In The Run Today With The Adults, So They Learned How To Push Thru The Reed Fence Into The Adults Coop...And Out Into The run...
I am SO sad. Went out to the coop this morning and found 2 of my FAVORITE 12 week pullets laying dead on the ground...a CCL with blood on her neck and a BCM with no blood. It looked like a pillow exploded in the coop. And on my street is a disemboweled wild rabbit.
Just talked to dh and he...
I have 21 week-old chicks in the brooder, which I incubated for my neighbors. They have a coop ready. When is the soonest they can go outside? I know they don't fully feather until 6 weeks or so, but would 2-3 weeks be ok if I loan them my brooder lamp until the weather warms up more? I checked...
I have a question for those of you in the Phoenix area. My Easter Egger's are older and laying but I want to keep the green eggs coming. Since I inherited them, I have no idea where to find more. I hatched my own, but since the roo is RIR, they will probably be olive eggers...? (Please correct...
We just started our chicken adventure in October, and we have our second hatch about to explode the incubator this weekend...23 barnyard mixes rocking and rolling in there! I love incubating because then they are used to daily handling, unlike my older flock.
Let me know if you need any...
I put my eighteen 8-week littles out in their own coop this week, and couldn't find 3 of the 18 last night. The little stinkers found hiding places...one was stuck between some chain link...another was a BCM and just couldn't see her hiding...and the third hopped the 6 foot bamboo fence and was...
