Okay here is my only chick so far! I believe it's a Rhode Island Red. I have another egg zipped, 1 pipped and chirping in another. We used a homemade incubator, it's a box, a bowl of water and a heat lamp.

Well I just got home from a very long geat weekend camping but Long because I wanted to be here with my babies. Anyway, we have 1 pip and can hear another peeping inside the egg!

I have one internal pip but I am leaving the house until Sunday. I have a friend coming over tomorrow to take pictures. I am so upset I won't be here to see it for myself.

akbufflady....that is so funny! I shoud do that this time, because last time, nothing got done around here during hatch time.

So I just candled and I saw movement in 5 eggs out of 12, that's pretty good for a homemade incubator I think. Hopefully everything will go smoothly until Saturday or so.

We are with you on the 17th. We made a homemade incubator for my son's science fair project. We have 12 eggs and I know there are 4 yolkers so far, so that leaves 8 eggs to hatch. We have actually done a homemade incubator before and had 3 hatch out of 8 eggs. Anyway, good luck.
