In ours, the toenails are a somewhat blueish-slate color like the shanks. However, white in the toenail probaly should not be considered a DQ, just perhaps a defect. Since no "official: standard exist in the US, this is an issue we will have to compare and agree on at some point.
I was...
can everyone tell me what color are the toenails on your lavenders (research project) also if they have a large spot by the toes like white toes that would make the white vs another color if they didn't have the spot there.
thanks

what is the best way to determine if you have a light blue orp or a true lavender orp? (if it carries lavender, do you still see ratty tails in the split lavender birds?)

Good luck with your project. I will tell you .... info you may find of interest. I have earlier generation Lavender Orp project birds, and some of the latest ones. The size difference is amazing! If you are interested in size, as well as the lavender gene, I would recommend a later...
I figure this is the easiest place to ask. If any one has any hatching eggs they would like to sell, I am interested in 6 100% lavender orps. I don't care so much about they are not close to orp type as I am using the color for a project.
just pm me with a price, shipping to 04330
