    Either adding to an existing thread (after reading the whole thread and not finding an answer).... .....or starting a new thread will work. -Possibly, Yes...breathing it is not good at all, and it won't do any good things for your deep litter either. -Don't waste your money, DE does nothing...

    Ditto Dat^^^ That's for sure...... Except I do keep some on hand in case I get grain mites in a bag of feed, I found it does work very well for that after getting several infested bags last year. I also put some under nest bedding and in other cracks and crevices in the coop where it can't...

    It's good to use in feed and the cans feed is stored in, especially if you've found any grain mites, and under straw/bedding in nests as a preventative.

    Yeah.... but.... DE is especially 'sharp', that's part of how it kills insects-it cutx their exoskeleton, you don't want even a bit in your lungs.

    NOT the kind to use!!! Pool filter DE is much, much finer than the food grade and thus much more of a lung irritant!!
