Hey guys....with my newborn baby and being off work for several months (unpaid) I sadly have to thin my flock before winter. That said, I've reluctantly made the decision to part with my Crevecoeur breeding flock. I cannot ship but if you're close I can probably arrange delivery or meeting you...
We get -25 or worse in the winter. They do fine with being locked in the coop during the worst of it. I've never lost one to cold...but they would do even better if I had solid roofing over my runs to keep them dry. When their crests get wet, they get chilled.

Creves do okay in the heat but not great. We occasionally get 110+ here and I have to bring them into the house or they die. I have an insulated coop which is in the shade for most of the day. It's got good ventilation and I run fans in there 24/7. They start to struggle at temps 85+...

Well, where'd you get her? Every hatchery I've ever seen with Creves (including Sandhill) has white earlobe Creves. The leg mites, I don't know anything about other than there is medicine for that.

OH NO!!! You lost your gorgeous Creve roo? And all of the others?
I have a major surplus of Creve eggs--we've been hard-boiling them & feeding them back to the chickens, in fact....let me know if you'd like to try again....I might be able to do a dozen.

Let me know if you're looking for any hens for him....I have two extras I need to sell ASAP....I have someone dropping off a white Houdan roo to me tomorrow that's from the west side--so he could give the hens a ride, maybe?

Hi all, I just bought Crevecoeur eggs from Rare feathers Farm-I'm so eggcited!!! They're on their way. I actually have some incubating that are supposed to hatch in about a week, sooooooo, looks like I'll have 2 incubators going...hmmm, that means room for more eggs! I...
A funny couple of pics I took yesterday!
He's waiting for Cheerios to fall down!
They didn't show much interest in the salad greens I threw in. I had to thin out my lettuce & spinach a little yesterday so I threw a few plants to each pen....
His comb looks a little white in this...

He looks pretty good. Yes, they take a while to mature & fill out completely. He should "thicken up" once he stops growing taller.
I will have to get some weights on my birds. I keep meaning to do that with my GLC's as well...but being 34 weeks preggo, it's hard to chase them around...

In some lines, about the same because some lines have a lot of Polish in them. One of the pairs I have is super-calm--including the roo. I can pet him & Mrs. Puff...she's very talkative and stuff....some of the others fly up & bounce off the walls/ceilings/your face when you go in the...
