Thanks! They choose to sleep in that tree most of the year even if it is raining or snowing. I have a few older ladies who sleep in the coop. They do just fine with my other birds. They are very assertive.

I am so sorry cluck cluck. I know you were attached to your boy. I do not understand the hatred some people have for roosters. I was very sad to get rid of my Crev roosters. My angry neighbor is an acre away. The roosters I have now do not crow as much as the Crevs did. I am legal to have...

I would be most concerned about all that yellow on their beaks/legs. They should have white skin. Look forward seeing chicks you get from Urch or Exop. I sure miss my boys. It is a lot quieter with them gone. My other roosters just do not crow as much.

Hey cluck cluck. Congrats on the chicks. I hate to ask, but is there any chance those babies are crosses? They seem to have an awful lot of yellow on their beaks and legs. Crevs should have white skin. My chicks did not have any yellow. Been meaning to ask you. When the weather cools...

Crevs are just loons! Most of my girls choose to roost up in a tree at night. I have climbed the tree and gathered them up to put in the coop. Rain or shine they rather sleep in the tree. Some are to high up for me to get to. I wish they would just go in the coop. I worry about them. I...

She did. I ended up with her rooster and a few hens. I had to downsize and no longer have any Crev roosters. I have quite a few hens that I hatched. Let me know if you need some ladies for your boy. As to the Polish influence I think you will have a difficult time finding any Crevs up to...

Looks like a Crev to me. His wattles are a little large and could use more beard, but I would guess a Crev.

Are you allowed to have roosters were you live? If so your neighbor can not make you get rid of him. It sounds like you are being courteous of your neighbor. I mean you keep the rooster in on the weekends to give them a break. I hope you can keep him. One rooster is not unreasonable. You...

Diapers.. I would love to see my nutty Crevs in the house. I used to have a rooster who refused to sleep in the coop. He liked to sleep perched on the rocking chair on the front porch. Most of my girls choose to sleep in a tree at night. I have plenty of predators. They have been lucky...

Sorry you had to give up your boys. It is a part of it. I will not be on this thread much anymore. I had to make some tough decisions. I have a neighbor who is very upset about the roosters. The crevs were the loudest of all my birds. I no longer have any Crev boys. I still have my hens...

Nope. They are a old French breed. Dual purpose and at one time quite popular for their meat. They should have a heavier build and not as large of a crest. My understanding is that Polish was added here to improve the crest for showing. It is a breed that needs more interest and work.

Not snow just frost. The ground is quite frozen today. I have some crazy birds who refuse to sleep in their coops preferring the trees. They had frost across their backs early this morning.
