    People keep non-working dogs, and house cats, including mixed breeds. Are they a farce too??? Guess everyone is entitled to their opinion. Edited to say ... I see on another thread you said “I got my first ever hens last August, 2 “ So you must be a chicken expert.

    I do not know for sure, but suspect that if GFF did any breeding it would have been between different imports of pure sfh flocks. They import and sell birds . There is no reason at all for them to be outcrossing sfh to "improve" anything and they would have to be crazy to try with these guys...

    Usually a very light tan, though could be almost white or darker tan. I think your hen is gorgeous, and a swede!

    Not exactly sure, but ours seem to lay more than any other chickens we have. Eggs are not huge (not small either), but nor are the birds, and I believe they do lay through the winter, as last winter many of the limited available hatching eggs were SFH (and silkies).

    I think the top hen is from Greenfire farms. Yours does look very like a gorgeous mille fleur Swede. Are the legs yellow or green though?

    Took some pics of our SFHs today. Thought I would share some of the pics. Sorry if there are too many but I could not choose. We also have a black and a bluish hen, but they are broody so not in this pen.

    At least you got quite a few SFH hens from the hatch Jeremy. I just put your "grand-eggs" in the bator but will take pics of eggs and chicks when they hatch .

    Beautiful Jeremy!! I love Arlene's coloring. Btw I finally got some wheaten ameraucana eggs from the offspring of your girls. LOVE the egg color. Do you still have a wheatie roo, and are you going to be able to keep the SFH roo?
