Finally found a black based roo I am getting this Fri!!! So excited

well with as many birds as I have I can't let them free range all the time, but I do rotate 'days out' with each pen- the sfh get out atleast 2 times a week- ugggghhh!

I'm not surprised by this, from what I've been told by a few folks in Sweden that have both crested & non crested flocks this can happen. I've also been told that it is possible to produce non crested from crested parents. I don't understand how it works, but it's what I've been told... My flock...

BDM I love the coloring on that one! Looks like I have another SFH going broody. Today is their day to free range & Yvonne refuses to leave the roosting cabin. Everyone else ran out to go bug hunting. I might put sneak choc orp eggs under her too

RedRidge he's a pretty little boy, I like his coloring! SeattleLeah both have nice coloring, the top looks like a pullet- the other might be too, but some of the crested roos will fool you for a while. I had 1 that was obviously a boy @ 3wks, then a few months later 3 more of my 'pullets'...
