Like I said I could be wrong because Swedish Flower Hens have a multiplicity of coloring! I am always amazed when I see them with new color patterning and to realize they are all the same breed. Which is why I have Sweds! I love seeing all their diversity and them all still being pure bred...
Um, I have had Sweds since Greenfire first imported them and I have never had any with the coloring of the two hens, much less two with almost exact patterning. Are you sure they are not Swed Mixes? I could be wrong, I mean Sweds have a multiplicity of colorings.
You can drive down to Missouri and pick some up :) But even if they have the same pattern their chicks might look completely different. I have some young ones that look nothing like the ones I started off with. Their genetics are more diversified than that of most chickens.
None of the...
Cathiesue,
Yes I will sell just a roo, I just don't want anyone asking for 4 hens and no roo's. You can choose crested or uncrested and then I will take pictures of some that meet what you want. You choose the one and then I will band him as yours soon as the Paypal payment goes though. I...
I will tell you what you might want to wait a bit longer. One of my girls Fatina, I bought her as a juvenile from GFF and they were sure she was a roo, so I named her Fabio, nope she laid eggs, and they one Jenny said was a girl turned out to be a boy.. I think it might be a roo, but wait...
Hi all it has been a while since I have been on busy with school, raising kids, and taking care of my babies. I am taking a road trip from Pensacola FL to Springfield Missouri, and dropping off Swedish Flowers to anyone who wants to buy some. I am selling a trio for $140.00 flat, no shipping...
I really need to get pics of mine up here, only one of my 5 have a fair amount of blue. They will be about a year old this Jan. and seem to have lost a lot of the blue when I look at pictures of them as young pullets and cocks. From everything I have seen of the Swedish Flowers they do not...
I got mine at 8 weeks old, so I really don't know. Email Jenny at Green Fire Farms she will tell you.
How did you get two older hens if I may ask? Were they from a different order?
Christal
Yes three of them did when I got them. I asked her for all the genetic diversity possible, ask and you shall receive. She did give me an extra rooster. What I am going to do is breed the two pairs, and put the extra roo off with some frizzle or polish hens for a time. Then When the chicks...
Here are my Swedish Flower Hens, I bought them as Juviniles that were basically completly feathered, so I think about 8 weeks, and now they are 12 weeks. They are so pretty and fun.
They do seem to have an affinity for water, they keep finding every mud puddle they can even jumping in...
