You do have beautiful roosters. I like Mace's full breast and the way his back flows smoothly into his tail, unlike Gunnar's that has the squirrel tail going on. Those are nice looking blue based roos too. It would appear you have the right hens paired to the right roosters. If you ever have...

I kind of addressed this in my previous post, but I thought of something else, so I thought I would reply to this post. When breeding registered stock, such as cattle, you are allowed to use other breeds to bring in a certain trait that you want. But you had to register each cross and the...

I would agree with what you have to say. It would seem Swedish Flowers have been plagued by mixed breed birds being sold as purebred birds. There's a couple auctions on ebay for Swedish Flowers with pics of birds obviously not pure. There are pics all throughout this thread of mixed breed...

I would agree it is absolutely a fault. Johnlogan has some good advice. Find a good trio and keep your nonsplit wing hens. Or at least a rooster to breed to your good hen. There has been several people rehoming roosters.

I agree with the Mottled Javas. This is a pic I found while searching for pics of Swedish Flower Hens and thought this hen would be a good example of what I would be working towards while breeding these birds.

Crooked toes seem to be to wide spread to be an incubator temp problem. I hatched 21 out of 36 Swedish Flower Hen eggs and one had crooked toes on one foot. The others are doing just fine. They aren't as active as the Leghorn X chicks that hatched from my hens with them, but that's probably...
