Thanks! That is so interesting. I do have a couple Maran eggs set aside from my Isbar Roo, so I think I will incubate them
just to see what happens. I realize I will have to keep the chicks from this until they start laying which would be next Spring.
This takes a lot of patience, doesn't it?
In my situation the Welsummer couldn't compare with the Marans, in egg color or amount of eggs. But, then my Welsummer was a hatchery chick and
my Marans were from a breeder. At age four, the Marans are still layi8ng. I will see if I can attach a pic of my eggs.
