Sorry I put my quote on the wrong post and don't know how to delete. This is the original post. I got 3 girls from Richard and I am trying to find a roo Imported Chocolate Orpington for them. The owner of this bird in the pic that it was a boy but, I am thinking girl. I posted this once before...
Does anyone know if this is a boy or a girl? I have 3 beautiful Chocolate Orpington girls that I got from Richard but, I don't have a boy. I am trying to find a boy for my girls. This person thought this chick was a boy but, I am thinking girl. It is 4 months old and not trying to crow yet. What...
Cute chicks.. The momma is beautiful. I am not that familiar with Ameraucanas and standards there is to be an Ameraucana. So is the pretty momma a EE or an Ameraucana. She is just beautiful. :0)
Can you show us pics of more then one of your babies wings so we can compare. I am learning how to feather sex also, it would probably help to compare. I am thinking boy on that one though, as I said I am new though. :0)
Thanks for answering me. Yeh, thats what I am afraid of. I think I have 3 girls and no boys and I can't seem to find anyone wanting to sell a imported Chocolate Orpington roo.
The pics of the Chocolate above is Bitey Joe. The pics here are of Cocoa. I know Cocoa is a girl but, I put pics of her here for comparison. Sorry, I know the pics aren't great but, these guys don't sit still at all. :0)
I need to take some more updated pics. If they were boys shouldn't they be crowing by now? Two of them have larger combs and they have more red in them. I am assuming they must be girls since they are already 5 months and no one has started crowing. I will try to get some pics up this afternoon...
At what age do imported Orpingtons usually start laying or crowing? I have 3 imported Chocolate Orpingtons that are 5 months old and I still don't know if they are boys or girls. Well I know one is a girl but, I am really confused about the other two.
Thanks,
MIchelle
Does anyone know someone who is wanting to sale an Imported Chocolate Orpington roo. I bought 3 straight run Chocolates about 5 months ago and they all turned out to be girls. So my girls need a boy. :0(
Hi fellow Orpington lovers. Has anyone heard of Richard Jordan aka Pampered_poultry. How is his reputation as a breeder, has anyone purchased from him?
Thanks
I am not sure if they are English or not. Thanks so much for the help.

Are these English birds? My English boys typically start crowing around 4-5 months, sometimes earlier, sometimes later. My girls usually start laying between 7-10 months.
I have 2 buff orpingtons and one blue and one black splash. They were all born at the end of September. The two buffs have been laying for a few weeks now but, the blue and splash aren't laying or crowing.
So when do Orpingtons usually start laying or crowing.
Thanks,
