I have noticed that my chocolates feather rather slowly; a couple are 3 mo. old and still have few feathers on their breasts. I have raised LF Cochins and the fill in (and out) slowly too. The big breeds teach patience.

Is there a way to get a Blue bird when breeding a Chocolate Roo over a Mauve hen?

I have 1 mauve Cuckoo hen in with my Chocolate roo. I have hatched 2 Cuckoo chicks; one looks to be Chocolate cuckoo and the other looks darker. Could it be blue? I barely have learned the basics of chocolate breeding and Cuckoo is throwing more into the combination than I understand right now...
