Quote: Agreed. And old bird? You might as well just raise them for the freezer. I have sometimes culled older birds, I rescued a few layers from a commercial barn that they were just going to kill and after a few years they just started to shut down. No eggs, no energy anymore.- ChickieBooBoo

How often do you cull your older birds?
I dont have any birds who are that old yet but I dont think I'm going to cull very many of them. It just doesnt seem fair, they lay pretty much their whole life for you, and when they get to old to lay be just kill them?- ChickieBooBoo
