If anyone in the East Texas area might be interested I have a perfectly operating Ador automatic door for sale. They are currently close to $300 and I will sell it for $150. If you buy the door I will give you five gentle Black Australorp hens about 21/2 years old. 4 plastic waterers. 2...

Since it is warmer I decided to return to restoring some cast iron. Was working on a piece for cornbread sticks and then returned it to the electrolysis vat. Hen started singing so since I had to go by the coop I decided to retrieve the egg. I had a gate latch on the coop door. So I go in and...

Finally got hardware cloth up. After painting rafter liked the farmhouse look and didn’t want to cover it so did this inside. Put a drip cap on decking edge so didn’t have to paint it.

A hen. Would not venture on ancestry. I still polish my shoes so if no one claims the Shinola! Many would not know what it is.

Checked local Craigslist. Nothing but mixed. Will check others. Saw closest here was Mississippi. Was trying to find something close for a day trip.

Good luck with your chicks! Just a small group of chickens here. 5 to be exact. Had larger in past. Know Saginaw well. Been there many times. Have relatives that live near there and a cousin that teaches there. When I lived in Fort Worth it was just a wide spot in road. Used to fish and watch...

I have lived in 3 states. Many cities and towns. While living in populated areas has its benefits, I enjoyed the solitude of the fields on the east coast and the time on a ranch in west Texas best. I guess that is why I live in the middle of the woods now. I guess it is what suits you that...

Nothing severe yet in east Texas. Some showers. Just real dark and lots of heavy thunder.

Good luck. Surely you will find some close to you to help the young folks. I was looking at a fire pit made by Lone Star Grillz in Willis. Since that is close to you, I was wondering if you might have some knowledge of them and their work. By the way, I think Jolene is a great name.

Thinking about getting one for traveling. Especially with the report of bedbugs in some of the better motels. Have walked out of some after flipping the covers back and checking and checking for cleanliness. This would illuminate things the eye might not see.

The things you learn from other people. Had no idea about the ticks. Looked it up and they do kill up to 5000 a year. They do it when they groom and they are like cats in grooming. The ones I have seen must have had a bad hair day. Didn’t know about the gecko’s either. Thanks Allen.

I have only had a couple of scorpions in the last 25 years. But when I was working for a college back in the 80’s I rented a log cabin in the country on a sand hill. We had a bad drought then. The scorpions were on full blown attack for water and shade. We sat on the front porch swing and...
