Question: What do you guys find is the best ratio of Roo to Hen for maintaining a steady stream of fertile eggs? My flock is growing and I now have 5 pullets and 1 roo...how many more pullets/hens before I need another roo?
Hey Hens, since you're in Liberty Hill, will you let me know if you see a house on an acre or more for rent? I'm in Georgetown now and need more space for my chickens (and roosters). Or if anyone sees anything in the Liberty Hill, Georgetown, Hutto, etc.... my chickens have needs!

Also, I have now been to my first chicken show and my first auction. Both interesting and pretty cool in their own ways. The auction will be much better in warmer weather!
I had been fermenting for a couple weeks and the chickens loved it. Then they stopped one day....I looked at the jar and it had white mold growing....i thoroughly cleaned the jars and started over....the next batch, no mold, but the first time I opened it smelled pretty "off"....it normally...
Aahhhccckkkkk!!! The power just went out in our neighborhood! I have 17 chicks trying to stay warm in brooder, one still hatching and 12 more eggs still in incubator!!! WORST timing ever!!!
