Look into the Morgan buildings. You can quite often find them used on the Morgan lot with the new buildings. They are built on skids and very sturdy. Much more sturdy than the ones from Home Depot.
Ducks are like that! They will grow on you even more as they get older and you can see their personalities! Enjoy!
I have 6 grown ducks myself, 2 Pekin, 2 K. Campbell, and 2 magpie. Love them all!
That's a HOOT! I thought the same thing about my husband. But he was firing from point blank range, he couldn't miss! But the thing just kept moving! Scary!
We had one last winter get in with my ducks. We tried to get her and her juvenile to leave, the young one got out but the momma stayed. It took us NINE shots to kill her. One was directly to the brain and that stupid opossum was STILL alive!!! Be careful, they have a healthy set of teeth!
I am a Texas, was born and raised in Pasadena, TX, my grandparents lived in a small town, Cumby, about 60 miles east of Dallas! So I guess I am the unusual one! LOL Love this ole' state!
We won't get a direct hit in Ledbetter, but are scheduled for 25" of rain!!! We WILL flood, but being retired....we'll just stay at home.
I have moved my ducks into our shop in a temporary pen, they are NOT happy, but they ARE safe.
Everyone stay safe!
:frowI am a victim of "duck math"! I don't have any chickens, ducks are messy enough! But...LOVE 'EM!
I live in Ledbetter, 80 miles east of Austin on 290.
It is terrible, but that's the way of it. Thankfully I have never seen this behavior. I have just seen them sitting on the fence or up in a tree. They're pretty that way.
We have them in Ledbetter (central TX). A neighbor of mine said they are terrible if they are around cattle. They will wait for a cow to go into labor and while she can't defend herself they will peck their eyes out! YUCK! But...Nature is cruel! I have learned the hard way.
So far, I am having to keep the duck's kiddie pool changed 2 times a day. They get so hot already! It's been almost 100 here for the past week. Of course....they are a little spoiled!
Hey, Texans! I am looking to purchase 3-4 young adult ducks (hens only), anyone know of anyone selling any? I have 3 Pekins now so would prefer to have another breed, but that's NOT a definite.
I live in Ledbetter, halfway between Houston and Austin on 290.
Let me know if you know of anyone!
Thanks!
