Yeah, I don't love the bator, although I don't really have problems regulating the temp and humidity in this one. I would invest in a different one, but I only hatch eggs once a year, every other year, so it's served its purpose. My first hatch 2 years ago yielded 5 of 18, but those were...
New babies!!!! 4 of 12 hatched in my little giant, not a great hatch rate. We lost one when the other chicks flipped its pip over and I think it suffocated in the night, that was sad, we would have had 5. I believe they are Black Ameraucanas, Now let's hope they aren't all Roos!!!
Hey y'all! Been a while since I was on here, but I have Broody and I've been looking for some eggs around Dallas for her to hatch out. Anyone have any or know of any for sale?
This is the first time she's had anything like that happen, she's been laying normal, smallish sized eggs for a month! My EE started two weeks after her and she's laying long tall ones, larger than Goldie's. I'd been whining for so long that nobody had laid yet, she laid the first one right at...

Thanks Tammy! I thought she had pooped on me, but when it hit my side it was really heavy, I thought " oh no I scared the poop out of her!" It wasn't so gross, but I was shocked, I was letting my neighbors granddaughter pet her and out it came! Lol, just glad I don't need to worry!
I just had an odd thing happen....I was holding my BO that started laying about a month ago, and as I'm holding her she plopped out an egg that had no shell, just membrane, and she had layed a normal egg this morning. Is that normal or should I be worried?
I'm finally getting rid of my three little Roos! Yay, a gal from waxahatchie put an ad on CL wanting any chickens she could get, I'm meeting her at the Dallas Farmers Market, so hopefully it's really a she and not a serial killer with a chicken fetish! Lol
29 WEEKS!!! Good lord! By the time mine is 29 weeks, winter will be here and there will be NO eggs from anyone :(. I'm crossing my fingers for both of us!
Ok what is up! My 20 week old EE is showing no signs of laying and my 18 week old BO started laying last Friday. I thought EE's started laying early. Needless to say, come spring time I will be buying teenagers or layers, no more chicks for this chick, I'm too impatient! Lol
She laid one this morning, but not in the boxes, the first one she popped out on my back door step this one was in the shed on top of the coop, I think it's too crowded in the coop right now, I have three little Roos that are going to be culled and are not permanent residents, but I think they...
I'm anxiously awaiting mine to start laying too! I wasn't sure how old she was when I got her at the feed store, she was a lot bigger than my 3 day old chicks? Now I am thinking shes somewhere between 18-20 weeks, I run out every morning to check the nesting boxes!
