I recently ordered true Ameraucana eggs from NH, after 4 days in transit and being incorrectly routed through Memphis first and then Nashville I was able to hatch 9 healthy chicks out of those 12 eggs. My Brinsea and I were determined! So many factors come into play. Don't give up hope :)
Just had my first almost all male hatch ugh! Anyone looking for one or more Welsummer cockerels to have and raise please pm me. In Cheatham County right off I-24. Might even bring them to you.
For anyone that ships birds/chicks in middle TN--Do you have a drop off post office that you work with regularly that knows the drill and doesn't give you a funny look when you bring in a box of birds? I've read the guidelines/approved shipping boxes, etc. I just think half of them are clueless.
Got the plans off eBay. 12x6 with 2 separate sides. I really like that part. I have a couple of smaller coops made from scraps, but over time I see how leaks and being too low to the ground really bothers me. The average material cost he lists is still cheaper than buying one of those box ones...
Thanks! Sounds like a place I definitely want to check out. I have to drive from Nashville to Lenoir City this coming weekend and that is right on the way.
Does someone sell chick/bird shipping boxes locally? I've found good prices online, but the shipping just to get the boxes is more than double the cost.
Well, I'm fairly certain it was coccidious that killed my boy. I should have fed them the medicated feed longer. I had meds that I bought this year for my chicken first aid kit so it has been added to the water for my other three.
Since they were moved outside to that coop a few months ago...
