I can check with my father-in-law's father-in-law. He raises quail. We've been discussing making a short trip up to visit the family and pick up some eggs while we're there. We haven't ironed out when we're going yet, and I'm not 100% sure what breeds he raises, but if you want to message me I'd...

We got some chicks from there a few weeks ago. I, too, was impressed with their set-up and of the 30 chicks and 6 guineas we bought, we've only lost 1. That's awesome considering the awful time we've had with the few chicks my dad surprised the kids with from TSC. He showed up with 6 assorted...

Have any cases been reported in any backyard flocks or has it all been commercial? This junk's got me as paranoid as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

@msmeower Dad brought me the eggs I had him pick up from you earlier today and I couldn't be happier with them! Those are some gorgeous turkey eggs and we're all excited to see how the silkies and cochins do. I already had some Malay eggs set, so I couldn't swap out my turner. Ended up setting...

Yeah, we got hit pretty good. Luckily we didn't see any funnel loud action, but sent the girls to the stairwell closet just to be safe. When it started it sounded like someone was tearing the roof off. Hail + tin roof = LOUD! It really didn't get all that windy, so I'm hoping the critters...

I hope everyone made it through the storms ok. It was a real doozy here when that front pushed through, scary stuff.

I don't doubt it for a minute! Everyone, literally EVERYONE, I've talked to that's been has expressly commented on the poor state of the animals. I don't understand how places like that stay in business. You'd think the public (potential buyers) would eventually shut them down by refusing to do...

Even under the best of circumstances I'd be too afraid of the risks to trust auctions. I'm with you. Most of the livestock auctions I've seen are more concerned with making a quick buck than the health and quality of the animals they're peddling. I've never been to it personally, but several...

It looks almost identical to our Partridge Rock chicks. *I didn't have pics of our chicks, so I borrowed a couple from a Google image search*

I swear by local honey to help with our allergies. It's worked wonders for me and my oldest daughter. Locally sourced Royal Jelly is even better, but near impossible to find. We actually decided to get bees this year after what feels like forever talking about it. Have a beautiful colony coming...

What colors do you have in the Cochins? I may have to get a few when I get the turkey eggs from you. We've been wanting a few more. Preferably Lav, Calico, Mille Fleur or Blue, but love them all. My DH wasn't crazy about them till he actually spent some time with them while I was sick (he had to...

Maybe a couple CDs or those tin pie pans strung so they'll spin and reflect the light? I've seen several people around here using them, but don't know how effective they are personally.

I'll be going through them within the next couple weeks and will let you know what I have available. I'll pm you in a few, getting the girls some lunch atm.

I have some LF Frizzle Olive Eggers of all ages growing out and more scheduled to hatch in the next few days. It's getting about time to start figuring out who'll be staying for future projects and who needs new homes if that's like what you're looking for.

Hope they're doing ok. All the little ones I picked up from you are doing beautifully. My girls are absolutely smitten with one of the little Sapphires (has a little crest starting to show) and the lightest CCL baby. The boys are settling in well too. One of the little split cockerels has taken...

DMRippy, I'm so sorry to hear y'all got hit so hard. We've always had pretty crazy weather here as long as I can remember, but this crap lately is nuts. DH was called of a big job to fix storm damage to several businesses in Nashville today. Said Brentwood was pretty torn up as well, downed...

Luckily we didn't lose power but for a few minutes. I had the generator on standby just incase. Everything is badly flooded and we have a bunch of downed branches, but the kids and the critters are ok and that's all that matters. I hope everyone else is ok.
