Anyone have Indian Runner Ducks? I got three at a swap this past weekend but think its two drakes and a hen. Going to have to have more hens. They are so funny to watch. But tend to be a little more skittish and not as tame as other breeds. Maybe in time they will calm down.

I do Elkton to and Scottsville. Guess its back to the ban tho. More flu broke out in Indiana. I'm afraid the flu is goinbg to put an end to the back yard flocvk. The big conglomerates have more pull and don t care about the little man.

Wife89. I would put the Marian roo over whatever hens you have. That way the dark egg gene gets passed on. If you just want mixed breeds it will be good to hav them laying those dark eggs that everyone goes crazy over! I agree some of the prettiest cooks I've seen have been crosses. But then...

Pickle,I have heard that a lot of people have good sucess leaving the eggs in the turners to hatch, just turning them off at the approriate time. If you fitted a wire floor inside maybe a 1/2 - inch off the floor could you also use it for the hatching process, like if you set bothe trays at one...

chicklet that is awesome! Please put me down to receive the building instructions. My only problem is the electrical part as I am completely ignorant and afraid of electrical wireing! I do wonder if that much open glass/plexi will make temp regulation a problem. Especially as in the flucations...

I don't think the Roos are all bad, maybe an occasional meanie. The main dislike for the leghorn breed is that they are so flighty ,meaning wild! Sometimes they tame down. If they are free range they are usually not bad but if you get them cornered or have them in lockup, they co crazy when you...

I thought auto sex and sex link were the same thing? The black stars seem to a good producer and popular breed. But so do the red varietys. Both are usually on the lower price scale. Just depends on the color you like! If you want a breed where the roos are one color and the hen another the...
