have not been around much lately. Hope everyone is doing well. I just lost my EE rooster and am looking for an Ameraucana cockerel to go with the girls. I would like a white one and I think someone on this thread had some? If you do or know of someone in the E. TN area that does please let...

all. I have been following but not posting much lately. Sorry to hear about everyone's troubles. Congrats to everyone with new chicken babies! DMRippy- I believe I would have to take "care" of the dog. I have always lived in the country & we put down animals that are killing our livestock...

Thank you and I am glad it will be a while because I am so not ready for any. Plus it would give me an excuse to come west and visit family.....not a great selling point though. LOL

I "might" be interested in some White Ams if you have extras. I say 'might' because I am so far behind on coop building I don't know if I will ever get caught up. I am sorry about your Marans.

Just want to share pics of my week old LF bbs Orps. They grow so fast and I have one blue one that is attempting to crow. At first I thought I was nuts but my husband and son have both heard him.

DMRippy- sorry about your father. I hope everything works out well and quickly. I just finished my first ever incubator adventure. Set 42 and 21 hatched: 14 EE, 2 OE and 6 LF BBS Orps. The Orps were my problem eggs which in retrospect is a good thing because I never thought I would have...

Thanks and yes they are low to the ground compared to my English ones. Here's a pic of a couple of the English cockerels for comparison. They are at least a month younger. ETA: these are approx a month or so younger than Boris and Bebe

I managed to get a fairly good pic of a couple of my Orps today. This is Boris & Bebe part of a trio (sorry didn't get a pic of BB with them). Her color is not great for a blue but it may change some after her first molt and if not I still love her body type. I think they are around 7 1/2...

I set 41 eggs today: a mix of LF bbs Orps, EEs and EE over BCM. This is the first time ever for me so please send good vibes. And a friend is going to set whatever I collect this week on Saturday so that way if I am a complete failure at least I will have some baby chicks since she has...

Thank you. I don't have any white eggs! I have my LF bbs Orps, EEs, BCM under EE roo. I think I will be able to tell on the Orp eggs but very doubtful on the others. I know last year when we had the broodies I tried to candle the EE and Marans eggs and couldn't see anything. Oh well at...

My incubator is up and running. Nothing in it yet but trying to get it regulated. So far temps 98.7-100.6 (approx) and humidity 53-57%. Will keep checking for the next few days and hopefully, if the girls get in gear and I get the incubator regulated, setting eggs the first of March.

Thank you and no problem I get confused too. I don't have any for sale; all of mine are too young. I am going to do my first test breeding this spring but will be retaining them as of now.

Spent some of the day rearranging chickens. Got the 2 EE pullets out of the Orp pen and moving the EEs to a more secure pen. I am going to try to hatch some chicks this year. I think I am even going to break down and by a small incubator. I know I said I would only depend on a broody hen...
