Lilli laid about 16 eggs then stopped. Now 2 weeks later she's setting on nothing. I did get super 2 cute friendly babies from her though.

That might be something that just takes time to fully recover from. I re-habbed a "house goose" that couldn't even hold her wings up at 4 months- she was so deficient, but after about 2 weeks she was almost 100%. They have good days and bad- the slightest thing could set them back a day...

Love the pens! I don'k keep any feed or water inside the coops unless the weather is really bad or we have to be gone overnight. The birds only sleep and nest inside and spend the rest of the day in the yard. They could go in anytime, but they just don't seem to want to. I take the dishes...

You do not have to wait 30 days. 2 weeks maybe. If you wait too long there may not be many eggs left to work with.

Same here. The smooth birds look very good most of the year, where curlies look like a train wreck for several months.
