LOL! I will do, I'm going to have a stress free winter this year---no more chicks inside for now. Oh. my carpet. *sigh* I did find out spotbot gets chick poo out pretty well! I'll be ready to hatch early spring. Funny, as soon as I typed this I had a guy call about some Nn hens he decided to...

Been a minute since I've been on here!! Fredrick, he's suck a sexy beastie lol!! I'm still battling the too many roosters issue myself. Had another coyote come through 30 minutes after letting the flock run a few weeks back. He grabbed a BR hen and Ron, my huge BR roo, went after him. I...

http://avianaquamiser.com/posts/Heated_bucket_chicken_waterer/ I use this one myself, but I use the 3 gallon buckets from lowes---it's hard to get the bigger buckets to nest right so you can use the handle to hang them from. I use 3 nipples per bucket. I have 2 in my pens right now, adding a...

Has anyone ever has a runt chick? I have one JG chick that is about 6 weeks old and still has baby fluff everywhere except for little wing feathers and is less than 1/2 the size of the other JG chicks that are the same age. Its very weird...

@bairo - Thank you! much more cost effective to bribe a buddy with a truck. It looks like I'll need about 3/4 ton so I might as well buy a ton (I use it in the garden when planting for drainage too, and with my reptiles.) I'm a nerd, but not good with the maths! :D

@Stang- If it makes you feel better I walk into doors regularly. Particularly if someone is watching me. Like clients LOL! I also have a 3rd foot I trip over all the time. I am so ready to do sand, I just want to let it dry out a little bit first.

I wonder if you could look into the cost of shipping it freight? It might be expensive, but after gas and trailer rental it might be cheaper doing it that route. Good luck!!!

@TnBarnQueen I only saw ONE person selling D'Uccles I THINK because he had them in a pet carrier and I could only see flashes. There were no other birds that you sell that I saw there except silkies and they were snatched up quickly. I think your polish would do wonderfully. Not sure on the...

Aww I'm so sorry I didn't get to see you there! I ended up going with some of my "overstock" BR's and my Naked neck roosters. I sold everything but the naked necks and I DON'T want to process them. They are too pretty and weird and I really think someone would like them before it comes to that...

I need one of those old tools. I'm returning this one, it's stupid. I actually finally sold some chickens at Kingsport today, but I had to wait till almost everyone had left. Somehow I ended up with 2 new hens and a bunch of Black JG chicks... go figure.

Building cages for Saturday. Stupid J clip pliers pooped out on me after 10 minutes. Good thing I have some needle nose pliers. I think I built these cages too big LOL! I could probably fit a Turkey in these holes. Oh well. I couldn't find any plans on these so I just started building. At...

I try to keep mine between 99.5 and 100 still. I don't want it above 101 or below 98 for any long period of time. I try to keep a better measure with the water snake probe thermometer so I have an idea what the internal egg temp is. I swear I would be fiddling with that thing all day if I didn't...

:( That really stinks. I'm sorry Stang, wish there was something I could say to help. I have used petromalt and olive oil orally before to help with blockages, but I have lost rabbit to it too. I really hope no one minds that I am not bringing something home made. There is NOTHING in the...
