Well, it looks like my NYD hatch is gonna be early. I have cracked shells in about 4 of mine. They were dancing around last night and I figured they would come early. As long as they are healthy, I will be happy though. Although, I am like Terry...hope this doesn't mean a bunch of little roo's...

I have tried to show them and the D'uccle's will use it right in front of them and they stand there wide eyed waiting for it to swallow her. If she moves...

@TNBarnQueen that light colored chick is just like my "splash" cochin chick. At least thats what I was supposed to have. I got a chick in those cochins that is black skinned and 5 toe'd. They were all marked cochin/frizzle. So either eggs were mixed up or a silkie got in the pen. It has no...

Thank you Amy. I thought it was appropriate since she was running out of air when I pulled her shell back. And she is the cutest thing. They are eating and drinking now. So far, so good. I got 5 eggs from 5 hens today too. I guess the warm weather we have been having has confused them. I'm not...

Any cochin bantam hatchers on here? Are they a full term hatch or might they pop early? My incubator was about 99+ almost every minute until they were moved to LD. They have been fairly steady there even in LD. My eggs are on day 19 and I just wondered if they might pop tomorrow. I have some...

I have this little rooster to be up for re-homing as a pet. He is 8 weeks old Wed. He is a super sweet D'uccle. He does have a foot issue. In hatching, his little toes are not flat out like they should. He gets around fine, but I am not sure if he could hang on to breed later on. I could be...

AWWWW Stang....they are so cute. I still love that blue one. Stitch is adorable. And the black steel buck is a cutie too. OK....the babies got a day in the sun. It got up to 68 degrees and they got put in a cage and placed in the pen. So after all the hens tried to terrorize them for half...

Yes my 4 inside chicks are 2 Silkies and 2 D'uccles. I have been debating sending them out on some warm days to see how they do. I keep those lights on in the coop, so I would think they would be able to try it. They are 8 weeks old Wednesday.
