Most donkeys-including Mini's have the instinct to kill a coyote-- The problem can happen that the coyote over-powers the mini and kills it. I would guess that a team/pair of animals took down the coyote. Always helps if the Mini's are in good body shape so they can defend themselves, and 1...

I agree, but with donkeys they are not developed for green stuff on a ongoing basis, horses are, if I fed him like most horses I would have a problem.1/2 acre could be fine if you are feeding and removing manure on a ongoing basis, and making sure that the donkey is exercising- in the standard...

We worked Saturday in the rain and had to pull our boots out of the mud each step! Boy did I get the stink eye from my husband! I kept getting stuck--you should hear the donkey pulling his hoofs out of the mud. Must remember to seal and treat his hooves again. I had to clean 2 culverts today...

Not really. Donkey's are desert animals and are very prone to over eating, which can have serious effects on equine health. Half the year Jay-jay wears a grazing muzzle to control his John Deere habits. Seriously, you have keep them on a dry lot all the time--or muzzle them for half the day...

Please do not use a mini donkey this way--you can, and probably will, end up with a dead mini! You need a standard size like Jay-jay or larger. We got our donkey to be a pasture protector--that he's adorable was a plus!! Remember like horses there will be feet trims, worming, what to do with...

I agree poultrylady!! And coyotes would be the reason I have Jay-jay, my donkey. I have seen coyotes jump our fences to track deer through our pasture, no deer or coyotes since Jay-jay took over the pasture.
