I made two pedigree cages out of hardware cloth and put them on one side, and left the third space open. I have 3 breeding pens so I wanted to keep them separated til I could toe punch them.
I checked it as near to the Brinsea thermometer as I could get it (was going through the vent hole), and took a second reading down at egg level.

I'm on day 7 tonight. Candled and found one doing nothing, the rest (23) all look good! The one I wasn't sure of from the get go. It was in the nest box and very cold when I opened coops in the morning, temps were in the teens.
