Day 20 for Coturnix and still nothing.

85% is way too high, I've had mine get that high during a hatch and had a lot of chicks drown. I also ended up needing to take the already hatched babies out just so they would dry. The few that had been dry before the humidity spiked were soaking wet like the new babies.

Had they pipped the membrane? If the humidity was too high it wouldn't bother them until they pipped, then they would have drowned. I'd say it was probably the temperature. Get at least one more of those thermometers and use them both. You can't calibrate the temperature part of it, but you can...

Day 20 for Coturnix and still nothing.

You could open them (carefully from the 'big' end) and see if they are good. You might find some that are still alive. Was this your first time with coturnix? We all talk about how easy they are, but really you do have to 'learn' how to hatch them. My first try with coturnix resulted in 2...

I've had some hatch on day 21, but none later than that. With the float testing, obviously you're looking for eggs that float too 'high' but you always want to watch for eggs that 'move'. The movement is what tells you if the egg is still alive.

Yeah, if you candle into the air cell you could see them pushing on the membrane. Put a washcloth soaked in HOT water inside the bator and see if that doesn't help. I use the Springfield thermometers too and some read pretty spot-on while others can be all over the place. Maybe turn the heat up...

What is your humidity and temperature at? What type of incubator? Forced air? Still (circulated) air? Number and model of thermometers? All this stuff would help
