My broody hatched two chicks a week ago, one died two days ago, id been worried about it since birth and I dont think it started eating properly. Im womdering if I got a week old chick would the hen take it with the other chick she hatched? My children were disappointed the other never made it...

Chick two is out and looking good! It had got its bum stuck in the shell! The feathers were stuck to the membrane and the broody so I took the shell out afyer detaching it from everyone and the chick looks much happier! Haha. Starting to stumble around so fingers crossed for them both through...

I got them off my grandad. He was trading 70 welsummer bantam eggs so offered me some...we ended up with 9 (not sure where he picked them up from?!). Hes been around helping me out with them, out first chickens were two pekins (cochin) I have taken in who needed rehoming, and we've only had them...
So I still only have one piped...one egg felt a little cool so made sure it was under her well.

I think our first chick trying to hatch hasn't made it looked good about 3 hours ago but looks pretty listless now, is it resting or probally gone? :0( what causes could be possible? Its day 21 tomorrow so hoping the rest will break for freedom soon..
So tuesday is day 21 for my broodys eggs....what signs should I be looking out for? I check her regular as I found her with an egg bit pushed out behind her....not out the nest just not under her well and not as warm as the others. So im just keeping check shes got them tucked under well.
