Good you figured it out! Sorry about that though. Do you ever get mixed color legbars laying blue? Someone out there is breeding legbar x something producing splash laying blue with peacomb. I just can't remember who or what they are calling it.
Thanks for the insight and opinions everyone! I didn't know about PT testing, looked it up. Fortunately there is the Avian center run by WSU here in Puyallup who does the testing! Yes, it is required for shows. thanks for the insight
I will see if I can get to a show this year some time.
Thanks for the opinion! I got her from Baxter Barn- I think his source is ideal, but not sure where he got the CL's from. I think her tail is a bit high? But we did get her for eggs, not showing. I have thought of taking her to a show just to represent the breed with no intention of winning...
Wonderful! Input from Judges is always a plus (I show roses). It really helps! I'm glad you decided to take her. One thing, no picture? I wanna see the pretty lil gal .
Guesses as to whether her crest will fill out or is she stuck with this mohawk? 7 weeks. I'm really hoping it gets fuller. She's def not a showbird, but this is just silly looking.
Back tracking a bit here, I'd love to see smaller combs as well. I think it'd show off that beautiful crest much better! Plus the benefits of a smaller comb.........
Finnie- either way she's adorable and I love the coloring! But if you paid for a legbar you should get a legbar. I've been chronicling mine as she grows. She's not show quality, but that's not what I have her for. We put her in the same brooder with chicks already 1 week old and it was fine...
