Thank you! Unfortunately she met her death at the feet of an owl. By far she has been the most beautiful chicken I have owned. The owls, hawks and ferral cats have wreeked havoc on my flock this Spring.
Oh well. Not too disappointed. My rooster could use some work as far as too much rust coloring so maybe one of these will have the more desired color.
Its hard to photograph by I'm pretty sure there is a definite v shape on the white ones head with very light stripe down her back. Really hoping...
Here are some chick pics. Not the best quality. First hatch of Legbars so help with sexing is welcome!
I'm thinking dark chick is female, white chick is a female and the remaining 2 are males.
Rinda,
The chick in the peeps box is almost exactly what it looks like except the head is not as dark.
I will post pics as soon as I can, maybe this evening so you can help me on sexing.
I have a question. This weekend I hatched my first CL chicks. 5 chicks. 1 didn't make it.
Out of the 4 left, one is a white. Is that a bad thing? Or does this just happen every so often?
Thanks for all the critique!
I don't plan on showing or breeding to standard, however, I do think he is a very good looking bird so I thought I would post the pic and get some of your opinions.
He is my lone CL roo. He has a slight crest. I have him to breed to my 4 CL hens. 2 hens are nicely...
Yay!! I can finally say I am the proud owner of Cream Legbars! 9 weeks old and beautiful. Did not get a roo. I will be getting some CL hatching eggs next Spring from a breeder and will look at adding a roo then.
