Thanks! This morning #15 was out of its shell. I don't think #16 is going to hatch. I talked to bockbock2008 (whom I got these eggs from) and she said that the egg that didn't hatch was the first egg that her green egg layer had laid. I guess it is possible that it wasn't quite...
My wife called and apparently I am up to 9 chicks now. Of the 7 eggs that are left, at least 5 are pipped.....looks like my first time hatching is going to be a success!
Woke up to 4 chicks in the incubator! I actually got to watch one zip and come out of its shell. I'll post pictures in a few hours....right now I am going back to bed!!!!
I have had all the excitement I can handle for a day
I am turning in....will most certainly provide pics of the progress tomorrow morning! Still at 10 pips....hopefully some of the chicks have hatched by that point!

I know a lot of people do it that way. I asked about how people placed their eggs during lockdown and I was told it was a good idea to put them in a carton that is cut on the bottom so that the eggs stay bottom end up. They said it was a good idea because otherwise when chicks hatch...

I bought this incubator on craigslist. I was in the process of building my own and found this one. I figured I couldn't build one as cheap as I could buy this one, so I bought it. I have made some minor changes since I got it and added an automatic egg turner...but it is working out...
Here's a picture of my setup. Expecting 16 (hopefully) mixed breed chicks on the 23rd. As stated before...this is my test run so that I know what I am doing before my Delaware, Speckled Sussex, and Dominique eggs arrive early next month!
Well, I checked my questional eggs tonight and was able to see two chicks moving around. The third egg is too dark to see in (olive egg). I might have 16 out of 16 developing! For sure I have 15 out of 16.....sweet!
Now to see how many of the 16 will hatch! I am really enjoying my first...
As I said previously, my chicks are also due to hatch on the 23rd. So today is day 8 for me. I candled my 16 eggs and found 13 that for sure were developing. One I am pretty sure that is not developing. One that I think is, but not enough to give it the go ahead. And finally an OE that is...
Hey! I have 16 eggs in the incubator due on the 23rd! This is a test run with mixed breed eggs...my first time incubating! I wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing before my Delaware eggs arrive in early April.
I bought a homemade incubator and did some minor changes to it. It will...
